nice to meet you

Dear friends and supporters,

I’ve been doing some soul searching lately

About a year ago I took up this important cause to help end declawing. Together, with the Paw Project and other devoted people and groups who care about the welfare of kitties, we have made great strides in educating others and creating a lot of awareness. It seems that North America is waking up to how inhumane, cruel, and unnecessary amputating cat’s toe bones and claws is.

When I first started this page with all my funny and inspirational photos, many of you would send me notes saying how you would go to my page everyday to get a smile or to feel good. Many of you send me heartwarming stories about how my photos and videos help friends and family members feel better too. I’ll never forget the story from a friend who said that she showed her mom ,who was dying of cancer, my photos and together they laughed in her last hours. These kind of notes give us fuel to keep doing this everyday.

Lately, I’ve been hearing from some of you that you miss that happy City the Kitty place. I understand what you are saying. It’s been a juggling act to try to keep the happy posts and very disturbing posts about all the kitties who are suffering from being horrifically declawed.

I know in my heart I must keep being the voice for kitties so that someday all kitties in North America and the world will be safe from that horrific, inhumane, and cruel procedure.

So today my mom and I decided to create a new facebook page called, City the Kitty Advocate for Animals. https://www.facebook.com/CitytheKittyAdvocateForAnimals

Yes, I will have two facebook pages. One for just happy and fun posts and this new one for helping animals.

Now we will be able to post even more of the investigative journalism stories from all of the unethical things that you whistleblowers are sending me. Some of you are risking your relationships with family, friends, and your jobs to tell me stories about declawed kitties because you are sick and tired of seeing this torture and animal abuse. Now we can shine more and more light on all of this and in turn there will be more accountability in the veterinary medical field which hopefully will mean that declawing will end soon. Enough is enough.

My mom used to be a photojournalist at the Los Angeles Times for 25 yrs so she knows what it means to have integrity and to keep everything factual and respectful.

I literally showed up in her life, in the front of her home in the gutter, a few weeks after she was laid off at that amazing job, and she believes that I came into her life for a reason. She has been dedicating everything she has to working 16 hr days, 7 days a week as a volunteer for this important cause, and she needs your support more than ever.

Lately you have been sending us such unimaginable stories and photos of kitties that have had their lives ruined from being declawed. If this had to do with dogs, it would have been banned years ago. The cover up and ambivalent attitude in a large portion of the veterinary medical field is just simply appalling.

Some of your behind the scenes revelations from veterinary hospitals, in regards to declawing, are just simply beyond comprehension. Please keep sending me those kind of things. Your eyes and ears are so important and are truly helping to bring us closer to ending declawing. You have my 100% trust that I would never reveal my sources of information. My mom and I would go to jail before we do that. And I mean that.

Thanks to ALL of you, the Paw Project, the veterinarians who are stopping performing declawing, and all of the other cat organizations and people who are actually doing things that are part of the solution to end this mutilating procedure. So many people have finally stopped looking the other way and have stopped remaining silent about this horrific procedure.

This new page will be a phasing in process because when you do a post on here these days, it only is seen by about 5% of your followers. So to make this successful, please spread the word so we can build up the followers for this very important page.

I’m always open to your feedback. My number one mission in life is to spread awareness, educate, and end this inhumane thing. But I also want to bring light, smiles, and happiness in to your lives too. With this new page I think everyone will be happy!

The first post I will do on it later this week will be the most shocking and revealing declawing story that is the epitome of cover-up, unethical practices, pain and suffering, and just a living nightmare for 3 kitties who were declawed. You are not going to believe the horrendous and unethical actions that were done by “doctors” who took an oath to heal and help animals. It is a living nightmare for these 3 kitties (and their owners) who never deserved to have something like this happen to them. It will make news most likely because the cost to help save these kitties is up to $75,000. Sadly, it seems the only thing that will get the attention of major news media about this cause is something that involves a lot of money.

So join me on this new page https://www.facebook.com/CitytheKittyAdvocateForAnimals

It won’t just be about sad stories, but will also be filled with inspiration to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of animals…those who have no voice.

Love,

City the Kitty and moms
